WAW MUSIC: a new player in music streaming

After nearly a year in Côte d'Ivoire, WAW MUZIK is officially launching on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, in Abidjan.

WAW MUZIK has formed a partnership with Orange Côte d'Ivoire, which took place in two stages: a pre-launch in July 2020 for 12 months of full-scale technical testing, then, in August 2021, the service was offered to Orange users, focusing on music to position itself as the natural operator for young people.

Today, the platform is also accessible via MTN or Moov.

WAW MUZIK offers an innovative solution where "consumers no longer pay for their Internet, they pay for their music!" It has 14 million Afro and international tracks thanks to its partnerships with UNIVERSAL Music, BELIEVE, IDOL, KEYZIT, and leading local partners, enabling it to offer a vast range of local, curated content.

In addition to the hundreds of playlists available on the app, users can of course create their own, download them, and listen to them offline.

Another advantage of WAW MUZIK is that it offers unparalleled remuneration for artists and producers in Africa. "WAW MUZIK is an adventure driven by artists and based on a very simple observation: how can a continent that makes the world dance and sing be so restrictive when it comes to legal music streaming and pay its artists so little? When you see Ivorians constantly monitoring their internet usage so they can listen to just a few songs, you understand why piracy has become so widespread, to the detriment of producers and artists," explains Jean-Philippe Audoli, CEO of WAW MUZIK.

According to him, "the WAW MUZIK app was designed by and for artists. Its model allows it to capture financial flows in place of the operator and redistribute two-thirds of them to artists and producers. It is therefore revolutionary. It responds to market demand and sets us apart from the competition."

WAW MUZIK aims to reach one million users in the coming months.
