The Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which was scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast in the summer of 2023, has been postponed to January/February 2024, Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football, announced on Sunday.
A logical and expected decision. The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, announced on Sunday, July 3, during a press conference in Rabat, Morocco, that the next Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) will finally take place in January/February 2024.
Originally scheduled for summer 2023 in Ivory Coast, the competition has been postponed due to particularly difficult weather conditions during this period in the West African country.
The decision was made on Sunday by CAF following its executive committee meeting in Rabat, on the sidelines of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. Patrice Motsepe also announced that the African Super League will launch in August 2023, with teams to be determined.
