Médiamétrie 4th quarter 2022: A+ Ivoire leads in PDA, NCI leads in viewing time

Médiamétrie, which decided to expand its survey to four new major cities in Côte d'Ivoire

: Bouaké, Daloa, Korhogo, and San Pedro, has just published the first audience results for this new area for the fourth quarter of 2022. This regular declarative measurement, carried out with Omedia in three waves from October 9 to 24, 2022, November 6 to 21, 2022, and December 4 to 19, 2022, was conducted among 2,015 people aged 15 and over living in Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, Daloa, and San Pedro

Part of this study period (the third wave) covered the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which, as we recall, took place from November 20 to December 18.

We were able to gain exceptional access to the results for all Ivorian digital terrestrial television channels for the entire period.

A+ Ivoire

took first place with a 12.9% audience share among the entire population aged 15 and over. La Nouvelle Chaine Ivoirienne (NCI),

which broadcast the 28 best matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, came in second with a 10.4% audience share, far ahead of the public channels, Life TV, and 7 info.

However, in terms of viewing time, NCI took first place with an average of 1 hour 31 minutes per viewer, compared to 1 hour 22 minutes for A+ Ivoire.

In addition, Médiamétrie is publishing for the first time the results concerning DTT reception among the population living in Abidjan, as well as in Bouaké, Korhogo, Daloa, and San Pedro. According to the study, 61.5% of residents in these five cities receive Ivorian DTT channels regardless of the mode of reception (DTT, satellite, or cable).

Finally, 52.1% of those surveyed said they had connected to the internet the previous day, and 72% of individuals are registered on at least one social network. Among those registered on a social network, 64.7% say they connect to it every day or almost every day.
