The 2022-2023 edition of Africascope, which has just been published, provides detailed information on television and radio consumption and internet usage. It covers the following countries: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, and Senegal.
TELEVISION
The cumulative audience (share of daily viewers) and viewing time (DEI) are very high, even though there may be significant disparities between different countries.
The DRC and Mali are the two extremes: record consumption in the DRC and the lowest listening levels in Mali.
Women watch TV as much as men, but they watch it for longer (21 minutes longer).

RADIO
The disparities in radio listening are much greater, with record audiences in Burkina Faso and very low audiences in Gabon.
Mali ranks last in television, but ranks second among all countries in radio.
Men and people over 40 are the core consumers of radio.

INTERNET
In terms of internet usage, Senegal (70% of daily internet users and 2:12 hours of usage time) stands out, far ahead of other countries, with only Mali (58%) and Côte d'Ivoire (51%) exceeding 50% of daily internet users.
The internet remains a medium that is over-consumed by young people (under 40) and men.
