Choiseul 2023: two women from the media world enter the rankings

As every year, the African continent has been able to draw on its driving forces, young entrepreneurs and leaders, to demonstrate its ability to initiate, innovate, and show dynamism.

To highlight these young African economic leaders destined to play a leading role, the Choiseul Institute has once again compiled a list of individuals who have had an impact on the African economy in a new edition of the Choiseul 100 and 200 Africa rankings.

It should be noted that this ranking highlights young African leaders aged 40 and under who are set to play a major role in Africa's economic development.

This year, two women working in the media sector in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa have made it onto the list:

  • Yacine ALAO – Chief Executive Officer of A+ Benin, which began broadcasting on DTT and satellite on July 24, 2023. The channel now offers programming inspired by the formula that made A+ Ivoire so successful, but with its own Beninese personality.
  • Séné Ossebi Douniam, founder of Sport News Africa. Originally from Brazzaville, Séné Ossebi has made a name for herself in the world of sports news with Sport News Africa, a media outlet dedicated to African sports news for Africans on the continent and in the diaspora.
