For the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which will be held in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024, RFI, the official broadcaster of the competition in sub-Saharan Africa and France, is offering exceptional coverage and will broadcast more than 30 matches live. With around 30 correspondents and special envoys covering the competition in Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro, and Yamoussoukro* and bringing the matches to life in French and other languages from the heart of the Ivorian stadiums, RFI is offering special editions and programs broadcast from the competition venues, magazines, and dedicated segments in its news programs. Four dedicated broadcasts and podcasts
:- Radio Foot Internationale, Monday to Friday at 5:10 p.m. and 10:10 p.m.: RFI's flagship soccer program, presented by Annie Gasnier, follows the CAN closely, taking a close look at the matches as well as the "side stories" of the competition.
From January 29 to February 2, Annie Gasnier and David Fintzel will be broadcasting live from Côte d'Ivoire.
– Mondial sports, Saturdays and Sundays at 5:10 p.m.: Hugo Moissonnier presents an enhanced version of the sports department's weekly magazine dedicated to the CAN, with interviews with players and coaches and reports on the competition.
– The CAN news, every day at 5:42 a.m., 6:42 a.m., 7:40 a.m., and 8:40 a.m.: 4 minutes to learn everything about the latest competition news
. – Joseph-Antoine Bell's column, every day at 1:44 p.m.: the former Cameroon goalkeeper, African champion and RFI consultant offers a 5-minute slot, with a narrative or forward-looking commentary depending on his mood.

The guide to this 34th edition of the CAN. In six episodes, it presents each group in an educational way, reviewing the 24 teams that have qualified for the competition. To learn everything there is to know about this edition of the CAN, each episode takes the form of a conversation hosted by RFI sports journalist Martin Guez with African football specialists Patrick Juillard and Nabil Djellit.
And to go behind the scenes of RFI's coverage of CAN 2024, Alexandra Cagnard talks to Christophe Jousset, head of the sports department, in the original podcast "Témoins d'actu" (Witnesses to the News), which can be listened to (again) on rfi.fr and the Pure Radio app.
RFI in African languages
With its special correspondents and reporters, RFI's Mandenkan and Fulfulde editorial team is covering the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in its news bulletins and daily reports with "Le journal de la CAN" (8:10 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. in Mandenkan; 8:40 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. in Fulfulde). Starting with the quarterfinals, the editorial team will be broadcasting live from Abidjan with a program dedicated to the competition, "Magazine des sports," airing on Sundays at 6:05 p.m. (Mandenkan) and 6:35 p.m. (Fulfulde).
RFI in Swahili will also be covering the highlights of the CAN in its news bulletins and weekend sports magazines, with a particular focus on the matches involving teams from East, South and Central Africa.
In Hausa, RFI offers daily reports from its special correspondent in Ivory Coast in the 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. news programs and devotes its bi-weekly sports magazine "Wasanni" to the CAN. The editorial team is also closely following the results of the Cameroon, Ghana, and Nigeria teams.
Other language teams are also providing special coverage of the competition and reports, with Marco Martins for the Portuguese team and Paul Myers for RFI in English.
