On the sidelines of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the Pavillon Afriques is launching its call for projects.
The Pavillon Afriques will once again be located at the heart of the Cannes Film Festival's international village, which will take place from May 14 to 25, 2024. It is an essential meeting place for professionals from the continent, and will once again be held as part of the Cannes Film Festival's Film Market section.
All players in the film industry from the continent or the diaspora are invited to come together to showcase the innovation and technology that are changing the filmmaking process and costs. The ambition is also to create a unique venue for film trade and promotion that highlights the diversity and plurality of African film and television content.
Since its creation, Pavillon Afriques has been a real success. The African film industry was crying out for this kind of representation. Since then, a lot of work has been done and we are working every day to convince politicians and find funding for film production. Pavillon Afriques' ambition is to give Africa a place at one of the biggest festivals dedicated to the seventh art. We are working to highlight the importance of creating a film industry in African countries. This is essential if we want to structure and professionalize the sector in different countries. Finally, we must show the whole world what Africa is doing in terms of film," said Karine Barclais, founder of Pavillon Afriques.
For the 2024 edition, Pavillon Afriques is launching a call for projects to create a catalog of content for its distribution partners, platforms, and broadcasters. Applications must be sent in Word format to contact@pavillonafriques.com with the following information:

- Territories available for distribution
The deadline for applications is April 5.
At the same time, the Pavillon Afriques is collaborating this year with Binetou Faye and Afric'Art Progress to launch a second call for projects. A year ago, we met Bintou Faye, producer and founder, along with other young African filmmakers, of this unique association: AFRIC’ART PROGRESS. The latter works to promote the culture and collective of young African producers and is continuing its collaboration with the Africa Pavilion in 2024 thanks to this new call for projects. The aim is to accelerate the development of feature-length fiction films on a variety of themes: crime, thriller, comedy, social drama, romance, action, horror, adventure, science fiction, fantasy, musical, western, war, biopic, romantic comedy, historical, and comedy-drama. The selected projects will receive support in writing and production with the help of experts. The deadline for applications for this call for projects is March 31, 2024.
