The Pitcher Festival 2024, which annually recognizes the best African advertising campaigns, took place from May 12 to 18 and awarded prizes in eight categories and 40 subcategories.
Four Grand Prizes were awarded to the best campaigns:
- Dentsu Creative Nigeria wins two Grand Prix awards: Use of Media and Cultural Insights for their "Reclaim your DNA" campaign for AB InBev/Trophy Extra Special Stout.
- Dentsu Kenya also won two Grand Prix awards:
Digital Mobile Craft and Social Craft and Websites Microsites Web Services for "Give A Generous Voice to Storytime" for Cadbury's.
In addition, 25 Gold Awards were presented to 11 agencies, among which only McCann Dakar represented French-speaking Africa and won two Gold Awards for its campaign for the KIRENE group in the Entertainment Use of Music category and the Entertainment Music Video category.
20 other awards (Silver or Bronze Awards) were presented to French-speaking agencies.
- The campaigns created by MC CANN DAKAR for XXL and Beaufort X Singuila, which won two Bronze awards in the Craft category.
- The campaigns created by the Senegalese agency CARACTERE for the Kirene group and for the Groupement des Professionnels won Bronze in the Entertainment and Effectiveness categories. The campaign created by the CARACTERE agency for the Senegalese oil industry group won Silver in the Craft category.
- Campaigns created by AG PARTNERS AFRICA Group for Orange Cameroon, which won two Bronze awards in the Entertainment and Culture categories.
- Havas Africa Senegal wins Silver for its Live campaign for Neemba in the Culture category
- Finally, CANAL+ INTERNATIONAL received 12 awards (Silver and Bronze) for its various campaigns and initiatives (Tout pour la CAN, Le futur est à nous tour, Spinners Fake Out of Home, Festival).
