Christophe Tardieu appointed interim president of TV5 Monde

Following the resignation of outgoing President Yves Bigot, whose term ended on June 30, the TV5 Monde Board of Directors has appointed Christophe Tardieu, currently Secretary General of France Télévisions, to serve as interim head of TV5 Monde pending the completion of the process to appoint a new President.

From July 1, 2024, Christophe Tardieu will combine these new duties with those of Secretary General of France TV.

The president of TV5 Monde is appointed by France and approved by shareholders from other countries. The call for applications launched by the Ministry of Culture closed on June 9 but could not be finalized due to the ongoing election process.

It should be noted that TV5Monde is owned by France Télévisions, France Médias Monde, RTBF, SSR, Radio Canada, TV Monaco, TV Quebec, Arte France, and INA, and that the acquisition of shares by seven African countries is currently under consideration.
