Aziz Diallo has just been appointed Managing Director of Pay TV Francophone Africa at Canal+, reporting to David Mignot.
In his new role, based in Paris, Aziz Diallo will be responsible for overseeing the group's activities in all French-speaking African countries.
Prior to this promotion, Aziz Diallo headed CANAL+ Côte d'Ivoire for eight years.
A telecommunications engineer by training, he held various positions within the MTN Group before joining the CANAL+ Group as CEO of Mali.
Under his leadership, Canal+ Côte d'Ivoire has become one of CANAL+ Africa's most important markets in terms of subscriber numbers.
Aziz Diallo is highly respected by his peers because, beyond his undeniable commercial skills, which he has demonstrated in Côte d'Ivoire, he has human qualities that are appreciated by all.
Aziz Diallo's appointment should be seen in the context of Canal+'s desire to strengthen its presence in the African market, not only in French-speaking countries but also in English-speaking countries, particularly with the acquisition of Multichoice, which should give the CANAL+ Group a new dimension, enabling it to compete with the global streaming giants, as DAVID MIGNOT explained to us a year ago.
