CANAL+ Afrique innovates with a new program of unprecedented scope.
NOUVELLE REINE is a beauty and talent contest that began airing on Saturday, June 7, exclusively on CANAL+POP, and will continue every Saturday at 8:30 p.m. GMT.
Produced by ON EST ENSEMBLE PRODUCTIONS and CANAL+ AFRIQUE, this original and ambitious format features a pan-African cast of over 300 contestants and an exceptional jury composed of ADAMA PARIS, AWA SANOKO, and SINGUILA.
The competition, like the broadcast of the program, will run for 10 weeks and will consist of 3 phases.
1) Casting (Episodes 1 to 4)
Following auditions in Abidjan, Brazzaville, Conakry, Cotonou, Dakar, Douala, Libreville, and Kinshasa, 21 young women will be selected by the jury to join the Academy of Queens. In each city, a guest star (Landry Gnamba, Destiney, Djelykaba Bintou, Zeynab Habib, Halima Gadji, Princess Issie, Shan'l, and Gaz Mawete) will accompany the jury to discover and evaluate the participants:
2) The Academy of Queens (Episodes 5 to 9)
For five weeks, the 21 contestants will undergo intensive training provided by four expert coaches:
– Blondine Koffi (dance) – Santé Hiol (singing)– Fatim Sidibé (catwalk) – Eric Amani (stage presence)
Each week, they will be judged by the jury, and the public will be able to save some of them. Only 16 contestants will be selected for the grand finale!
3) The finale (Episode 10)
Broadcast live from Abidjan, the final will be presented by Jean-Michel Onnin in a spectacular 90-minute show. This time,
it will be the audience who will choose the winner: the contestant who combines beauty, charisma, and talent.
The New Queen will win a prize of 15 million CFA francs.
