Report on work carried out on the National AI Strategy in Cรดte d'Ivoire

The ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญรจ๐ซ๐ž ๐๐ž ๐ฅ๐š ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ฆรฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ช๐ฎ๐ž ๐ž๐ญ ๐๐ž ๐ฅ๐š ๐ƒ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง led the development of the ๐’๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ญรฉ๐ ๐ข๐ž ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ž ๐'๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐€๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž (๐ˆ๐€) ๐ž๐ญ ๐๐ž ๐†๐จ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐๐ž๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐จ๐ง๐งรฉ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ž๐ง ๐‚รด๐ญ๐ž ๐โ€™๐ˆ๐ฏ๐จ๐ข๐ซ๐ž by involving the main players in the digital ecosystem.

Work began in April 2024 with preliminary discussions aimed at laying the foundations for the strategy and identifying the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence for the country's socio-economic development, followed by the launch on September 30, 2024, which marked the start of consultations and in-depth exchanges with stakeholders.

The first operational phase took the form of a workshop that brought together national and international experts, public and private institutions, and international organizations, including ๐ฅโ€™๐”๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐€๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ž, ๐ฅโ€™๐”๐๐„๐’๐‚๐Ž, ๐ฅ๐ž ๐๐๐”๐ƒ, ๐ฅ๐š ๐๐š๐ง๐ช๐ฎ๐ž ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ž, ๐ฅ๐š ๐’๐…๐ˆ, ๐ฅ๐š ๐†๐ˆ๐™, ๐ฅ๐ž ๐“๐จ๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ข๐ซ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž, ๐Œ๐ž๐ญ๐š, ๐’๐ฆ๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐€๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐š, ๐ฅโ€™๐Ž๐๐”๐ƒ๐ˆ ๐ž๐ญ ๐…๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐œโ€™.

A validation workshop held on November 22, 2024, provided an opportunity to analyze and discuss the strategic priorities identified in previous consultations and to incorporate recommendations to enrich the final document.

The official presentation of the work took place on Friday, December 13, 2024.

According to journalist Christelle HOUETO, the National Strategy is based on six strategic pillars and defines 15 specific objectives and 109 projects and reforms to be implemented over a five-year period.

It will require a total investment of 912 billion CFA francs over five years, 70% of which will be allocated to improving broadband access for public administration, SMEs, households, and citizens, as well as to the digitization of administrative services.
