In recent years, Benin has taken numerous initiatives in the digital field to give the country an image of leadership in innovation.
The announcement that the Cyber Africa Forum (CAF), which has been held in Abidjan for the past four years, will take place in Cotonou in 2025 is further evidence of this commitment.
This event, which is supported by Benin's Ministry of Economy and Finance and Ministry of Digital Technology and Digitalization, will be held on June 24 and 25.
Since its creation in 2020, the CAF has brought together more than 6,000 participants from 54 countries, and in 2024, Abidjan welcomed nearly 1,000 participants around the theme "Cyber risks and artificial intelligence: what defense strategies are needed to face new digital threats?"
This fifth edition also aims to "accelerate the continent's digital transformation, combat cyber threats, and exploit opportunities related to artificial intelligence (AI)."
The topics covered in the round tables and conferences scheduled as part of the program for these meetings will include the regulatory framework, digital infrastructure, green tech, local talent development, cybersecurity, and e-governance.
The Cyber Africa Women program, for its part, will aim to promote women's participation in the digital sector.
