In a press release published on December 11, France Médias Monde announced the approval of the 2026 budget by the board of directors.
This budget provides for a return to balance at the cost of further cost-cutting measures, while maintaining the scope of the group's activities.
In a context of "hybrid warfare," France Médias Monde will continue to fulfill all of its global public service missions in 2026, focusing on its key strategic priorities:
- Provide free, independent, verified, and balanced information across five continents in 21 languages;
- Combating information manipulation and fake news in 21 languages, with unparalleled impact on a wide audience;
- Continue its digital transformation and the rollout of its AI roadmap;
- Continue developing local projects in Beirut, Dakar, and Bucharest;
- Develop the "Information Shield" project led by Deutsche Welle as part of the European "Democratic Shield";
In addition, the financial year provides for the implementation of major construction projects, particularly on the headquarters building, in order to achieve the energy consumption reduction targets set out in the tertiary decree (work to be carried out by the building owner, including refurbishments) and the renewal of TV systems.
