Wizall establishes itself in Mali and accelerates its development in West Africa

In an annual report on African startup financing published in March 2019, venture capital fund Partech Africa noted that financial inclusion driven by Fintech remained the most attractive sector for investment in 2018.

In this sector, the startup Wizall is accelerating its development in West Africa by officially launching its activities in Mali.

Created by Sébastien Vetter and Ken Kakena in 2015, Wizall is a Senegalese startup specializing in mobile money and money transfers to facilitate exchanges between Africans on the continent and those in the diaspora.

In 2018, the startup benefited from a fundraising campaign thanks to a multi-million euro investment from La Banque Centrale Populaire. This operation enabled the management team to expand Wizall's offering and customer base. The startup's business model, initially based on money transfers between individuals on the continent, now follows a B2B2C strategy. Geographically, Wizall has expanded its activities beyond Senegal to Côte d'Ivoire and Mali, where it is now operational.

Next step: Burkina Faso!
