In an audiovisual landscape increasingly dominated by thematic channels, TV5MONDE remains the leading international general-interest channel in French-speaking Africa
, with 4 out of 10 people watching the channel every week.
According to the latest results of the Africascope* study, TV5MONDE's weekly audience reaches an average of 40.8% of the population aged 15 and over
in the eight countries measured.
TV5MONDE remains the second best-known media brand,
with an awareness rate of 86% among the target audience aged 15 and over and 98% among opinion leaders.
The channel ranks third among the most watched international channels by executives and managers in French-speaking Africa
. Its cumulative weekly audience rating is 60.5%, while its audience share has increased by 1.6 points to 6.6%.
These excellent results for TV5MONDE in French-speaking Africa, complemented by those of RFI and France 24 in the same wave, once again demonstrate the appeal of the complementary range of French and French-language channels, which continues to attract a large number of viewers and listeners in the region.
*Source: Kantar Africascope study conducted between January and December 2022 in the capitals of eight French-speaking countries (Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, DRC, Gabon, Congo, Mali, and Burkina Faso), based on a representative sample of 15,300 individuals, including 1,200 executives and managers.
