On the occasion of the 18th Francophonie Summit, which will take place on November 19 and 20, 2022, on the island of Djerba in Tunisia, TV5MONDE, the summit's direct operator, is putting in place exceptional measures to cover the event's news on the air and on social media. The global French-language channel is relocating its magazines "Internationales" (in partnership with the French newspaper Le Monde) and "Maghreb-Orient Express" (#MOE), and will give extensive coverage to the event in its main news programs, including "Le Journal Afrique" and "64' Le Monde en français."
OPENING CEREMONY
The opening ceremony of the Francophonie Summit will be broadcast live on TV5MONDE on November 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (Paris and Djerba time), presented by Isabelle Malivoir with (in Paris) Mélikah Abdelmoumen, a Quebec and Tunisian author who has published Baldwin, Styron et moi (Baldwin, Styron and Me, published by Mémoire d'encrier) and TV5MONDE editorialist Slimane Zeghidour.
NEWSPAPERS
The entire editorial team is mobilized to cover the Summit. On November 18, 19, and 20, 2022, "Le Journal Afrique" (with Dominique Tchimbakala), "64' Le Monde en français" (with Mohamed Kaci), and "Le Journal International" will review the highlights of the Summit thanks to their special correspondents in Djerba. These special editions will feature live reports, interviews, news reports, and behind-the-scenes coverage.
INTERNATIONALES
Louise Mushikiwabo
, Secretary General of La Francophonie, will be the guest on Internationales on November 19 (program recorded on the 17th from the Summit).
This will be an opportunity to take stock of her work at the head of the International Organization of La Francophonie, on the eve of her second term.

Maghreb-Orient Express (#MOE)
Immersion program in Djerba presented by Mohamed Kaci. Guests include comedian Samia Orosemane, Mehdi Ben Cheikh, founder of Djerbahood, Mehdi Elouati from the Association for the Preservation of the Island of Djerba, and the soccer players of ES Jerba Midoun.

THE FRANCOPHONIE VILLAGE (November 13 to 20)
TV5MONDE will be present at the village, which brings together all Francophonie operators to exchange ideas with various experts from the civil, economic, and artistic worlds and participate in round tables organized within the Francophone pavilion.
