Trace Academia officially launched in Ivory Coast to train 100,000 young people

The official launch of Trace Academia took place on November 21 in Ivory Coast. It follows an agreement signed in 2021 between the Trace Group and the local government to make the platform's training courses available for a period of three years.

The government's ambition is to enable young Ivorians to train for the jobs of tomorrow and promote employability in the country, with the goal of training 100,000 young people by 2025. This initiative was welcomed by Ms. Mariétou Koné, Minister of National Education and Literacy: "… The main challenges for the government remain improving the employability of young people to give them access to decent and sustainable jobs and developing their skills. TRACE GLOBAL's "TRACE ACADEMIA" e-learning platform is a great initiative that can provide an operational response to the expectations of young people in their search for employment."

Trace Academia is both a platform and an innovative online training application, free and unlimited, offering courses and certificates dedicated to employment, entrepreneurship, and soft skills. The free mobile application, Trace Academia, offers courses and features developed by Trace in collaboration with a coalition of leading organizations and companies such as Google, the L'Oréal Foundation, AFD, UNESCO, Orange, Canal+, SACEM, Visa, Schneider Electric, Durex, Leroy Merlin, the French Ministry of Finance, Bureau Veritas, the Ford Foundation, Afreximbank, Accor-Kasada, the African Union, the University of Johannesburg, Senghor University, Valued Citizens, TPG Growth, Satya Capital, Trace, BDD Software, Bain & Co, Havas, and many others.

Active since 2017, the TRACE multimedia group is multiplying its initiatives across its various areas of activity, including television, radio, and digital media. Today, the group is seeking to diversify in order to support the training of the younger generation across the continent.

According to Olivier Laouchez, co-founder and executive chairman of Trace, "Our courses and certificates are created in partnership with leading players in industry, government, and the non-commercial sector. This free and easy-to-use app aims to train 26 million young Africans by 2026 with the skills they need to find or create jobs and access opportunities to help them start their careers. A person's environment at birth should never be a barrier to their success."
