The TV advertising market declined by 9% in the first half of 2020 in SENEGAL

Advertisers' investments in Senegal's main television channels reached 5.5 billion CFA francs (approximately €8.35 million) in the first half of 2020, according to the Omedia institute.

This represents a 9.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2019.

This decline was particularly sharp in June 2020, reaching -38% for that month alone.

There were few changes in the ranking of the most dynamic sectors: food remains the leading sector, while telecoms has overtaken health and beauty.

As for the 10 largest advertisers, with the exception of Orange, which retains its top spot year-on-year, none of the other nine advertisers in the 2019 TOP 10 appear in the 2020 TOP 10. This year's TOP 10 consists of advertisers from the telecoms sector (ORANGE and FREE), the food sector (Cowmilk, Halib, Nescafe, MAGGI, Koutam tea, Gloria), in which dairy brands are omnipresent, and the betting and gaming sector (1XBET and LONACE).
