In a press release dated October 2, the CANAL+ Group unveiled its new management team, composed of an equal number of executives from CANAL+ Africa and Multichoice.
Calvo MAWELA, outgoing CEO of MultiChoice, has been appointed President of CANAL+ Africa, which now encompasses the MultiChoice group and the entire African continent, including French-speaking territories.
David MIGNOT has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of this new merged entity. The new management team has been drawn from the talent pool of both companies, with CANAL+ and MultiChoice each contributing an equal number of senior executives.
The new management will operate as a single management team covering the entire African continent, structured into three divisions:
Operations (TV and Fiber activities), Content, and Corporate functions

In addition, Steven BUDLENDLER has been appointed Legal Director for English-speaking Africa and Special Advisor to the Group: Common Law.
Tim Jacobs has been appointed Director of Group Synergies within the Finance Department.
Finally, on October 21, CANAL+ announced the appointment of Thomas FOLLIN as Director of Diversification Africa at CANAL+. Previously Director of Transformation, Data & AI at CANAL+, he has led major structural transformations that have strategically positioned the group to meet future challenges.
In his new role, he will oversee CANAL+'s overall diversification strategy on the African continent. He will report to David Mignot, Managing Director of CANAL+ Africa.
