The most watched television channels in Senegal, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast

CANAL+ Advertising has just published its sales pitch featuring the audience share results for channels based on the latest data from KANTAR's Africascope 2023 study.

Here are the results for SENEGAL, CAMEROON, and IVORY COAST, which supplement those published a few days ago. Adweknow has compiled the main results in a QUIZ that is still relevant today.

SENEGAL

In Senegal, TFM remains the most watched television channel (13% audience share), but it is now closely followed by SENTV (12%) and SUNU YEUF, the CANAL+ group channel launched in November 2019.

The CANAL+ Sport and Novelas TV channels, managed by CANAL+ Advertising, follow in fourth and sixth place. ZEE MAGIC TV ranks fifth.

Walf TV and 2STV, the two other Senegalese channels, occupy seventh and eighth place, while RTS, the Senegalese public channel, does not appear in this TOP channel ranking.

CAMEROON

In Cameroon, Equinoxe TV ranks first with an 8% audience share, followed by the pan-African channel ZEE MAGIC TV and CANAL2.

NOVELAS TV and CANAL+SPORT channels complete the TOP 5. The national public channel, CRTV, ranks sixth, tied with ACTION, CANAL + channels, Trace channels, and Nollywood channels.

IVORY COAST

In Ivory Coast, the channels managed by CANAL+ Advertising + occupy the top five spots.

With a 14% audience share, A+ Ivoire ranks first and attracts as many viewers as the other three national channels combined: RTI1, Life TV, and NCI. These four Ivorian channels thus account for 29% of the total audience, which is roughly the same audience share as the top four Senegalese channels combined.

Also noteworthy are the strong performances of ACTION in 6th place and France 24 in 9th place.
