Every year, the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) celebrate the pan-African filmmakers, actors, and technicians who contribute to the success of the continent's film and television industry.
The AMVCAs are MultiChoice's flagship initiative, dedicated to recognizing, celebrating, and rewarding African storytelling in film and television. The 12th edition will highlight the growth, creativity, and international potential of the African entertainment industry, while reaffirming the AMVCAs' position as the continent's most prestigious awards platform.
In 2026, the AMVCA will honor winners in 32 categories, including 11 categories subject to popular vote.
The 2026 edition introduces two categories to better reflect the linguistic diversity of the continent:
Best Film in a Local Language – North Africa
Best Film in a Local Language – Central Africa
The call for applications from content creators across the continent has been open since January 11, 2026, and will close on February 15, 2026.
Eligible works are films and programs broadcast or screened publicly between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
The awards ceremony will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, in May 2026.
