The 3rd Indian Ocean Meetings will take place from June 8 to 11, 2021, in Réunion.

The 3rd Indian Ocean Meetings organized by the Francophone Union will take place from June 8 to 11 at MOCA, Saint Denis, Reunion Island, and will address a range of topics related to careers in communication, creative industries, and media, as well as the energy and environment sector.

More than 300 executives and professionals are expected to attend in person, but the meetings can also be attended virtually.

  • How can businesses, the media, and communication contribute to building a more responsible society?
  • How is the diversity of local languages taken into account in the world of communications?
  • What reforms are possible for GAFA?
  • What digital tools can be offered to the sector to create new revenue streams? …

These are just some of the fascinating questions that will be addressed by high-level speakers from all areas of communications and the French-speaking world.

In addition, the "7th edition of the Young Francophone Advertising Talent Competition" will take place during the 3rd Indian Ocean Meetings with the support of the AACC Outre-Mer, chaired by Thomas Giraud Castaing.

The chosen theme, "Climate: Need for Air," aims to raise awareness of issues related to global warming.

The challenge for young professionals from Cambodia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Canada, and the Indian Ocean is to create advertising campaign projects to promote the climate cause.

Working in teams of two to three, they will each present their project for six minutes via videoconference or in person to an audience of 40 media executives from the same countries. The winning campaigns will then be broadcast worldwide through UNION's media partners.
