The Vodacom Foundation is partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate digital development and improve access to new technologies in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This initiative, called "TECHSTART," aims to equip young Congolese people with the skills they need to fill junior positions in the cloud computing sector, a rapidly growing industry worldwide.
TECHSTART offers a free, intensive 12-week training course covering key areas such as cloud computing, IT security, networking, Linux, Python, and relational databases. In addition to technical knowledge, the program includes professional preparation modules, such as resume writing and interview techniques, to maximize learners' employment opportunities.
The Vodacom Foundation, which already has VODAEDUC, an educational content platform launched in 2017, will be able to use this partnership to enrich its online educational resources, learning platforms, and digital tools for students and teachers.
Thanks to AWS cloud solutions, the healthcare sector will benefit from technological solutions that facilitate access to healthcare (telemedicine services, awareness platforms, medical databases).
"We are delighted to partner with AWS to strengthen our digital transformation efforts and help bridge the technology gap in the DRC," said Pamela ILUNGA, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Vodacom Foundation.
"This partnership is a key step in ensuring that Congolese people enjoy the same opportunities as those in more developed markets."
