According to Omedia, an institute specializing in media monitoring (television, radio, press, billboards, and the Internet), advertising revenue for major television channels fell slightly (-1.8%) in March 2020 compared to 2019.
Prime time accounts for 74.3% of total investment, compared to 71.7% in 2019.
Furthermore, while Orange Senegal remains the largest advertiser over this period, eight of the ten largest advertisers of the month are new entrants.
It should be noted that in Senegal, the first case of coronavirus was detected on March 2, and a state of emergency was declared on March 23, impacting economic activity.
