With just a few days to go before the start of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) has just elected a new president, Samuel Eto'o. He will hold this position for the next four years.
The program that enabled Samuel Eto'o to win the election comprises five main points: improving governance, developing the practice of soccer, giving a boost to the profession, improving the competitiveness of Cameroonian clubs, and improving the management of national teams.
In addition, many challenges await the new president: improving relations between FECAFOOT and the Cameroon Professional Football League, establishing a competition calendar, increasing club subsidies, and promoting women's soccer.
Samuel Eto'o, who has won the African Ballon d'Or four times, also won an Olympic medal with the Cameroon national team in 2000 and two African Nations Cups (2000 and 2002).
