RFI and France 24 are launching the sixth edition of the "Challenge App Afrique" competition, which this year aims to promote the integration of new technologies in the field of children's education in French-speaking Africa. Open to all Africans and young companies on the continent, this edition rewards digital innovations (websites, applications, etc.) that improve educational tools for teachers and students alike.
Applications are open until December 8, 2021, on the dedicated website.
The ten finalists will receive personalized support from an incubator in their country of origin. The winner will receive funding for the development of their project.
Through this competition, RFI and France 24 aim to encourage and support innovation by stimulating and supporting young African companies and developers. Axian, Digital Africa, Orange, AIMS, and Emerging Valley, as well as African incubators for innovative companies, are partners in the initiative.
The themes of the first five editions were health (2016), girls' education (2017), sustainable development (2018), urban development and smart cities (2019), and digital technology in the fight against pandemics (2020).
