The Union of Local Radio Stations of Côte d'Ivoire (URPCI) celebrates the second edition of the Radio Oscars
On January 9, 2025, Abidjan hosted the second edition of the Radio Oscars, a flagship event organized by the Union of Local Radio Stations of Côte d'Ivoire (URPCI). More than 150 local radio stations were present, alongside Abdoulaye Kouyaté, representative of the Minister of Communication, Amadou Coulibaly.
The ceremony, themed "Maintaining and strengthening social cohesion in Côte d'Ivoire," aimed to promote local broadcasting by rewarding the best productions.
2025 Radio Oscar Winners
- René Bourgoin Award for Best Radio Station: La Voix de la Marahoué, based in Bouaflé, won this prestigious award. This distinction highlights the quality of the station's management and productions.
- Best Radio Production Award: This award was presented to Koné Augustin, a journalist at Arc-en-Ciel radio station in Abobo N'Dotré. He also won the ANARE-CI Sector Award for his report on consumer rights protection in the electricity sector.
- Best Female Production Award: Supported by the Media Support and Development Agency (ASDM), this award was presented to Audrey Akabé of ISTC FM, the radio station of the Polytechnic Institute of Communication Sciences and Techniques.
Encouragement and prospects
The president of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA), René Bourgoin, congratulated the winners and encouraged other local radio stations to continue their efforts to improve the quality of their programs. He reaffirmed the importance of local radio stations in strengthening social cohesion in Côte d'Ivoire.
This ceremony marks an important step in recognizing the work of community radio stations, which play an essential role in transmitting information and raising awareness among local communities.
