TV5MONDE, the French-language channel, will exclusively broadcast season 2 of its short program dedicated to portraits of influential women in Africa, "Femmes d'Afrique en Action" (Women of Africa in Action), for one month starting March 1. International Women's Day will thus be celebrated every day in March on TV5MONDE, in addition to March 8. Season 2 features portraits of Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of La Francophonie, Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura, Secretary General of FIFA, and Yacine Fall, Deputy Director General of the African Development Bank.
Produced by the French company Onyx Consulting, this program has been specially designed as a gallery of 31 four-minute portraits revealing the careers of 31 influential women entrepreneurs who, through their initiatives and actions, serve as role models in the development of African economies. Through these portraits, viewers are introduced to these women with inspiring backgrounds, who operate successfully in fields as diverse and varied as the arts, finance, technology, agriculture, the environment, education, cosmetics, and health.
A true reflection of a dynamic and diverse Africa that is succeeding, the program "WOMEN OF AFRICA IN ACTION" highlights personalities who are contributing to the economic and cultural emergence of the continent.
A new portrait from "Women of Africa in Action" will be broadcast every day throughout March on TV5MONDE Afrique, on the Afrique digital platform
(website and dedicated app), and on all TV5MONDE platforms.
