New on TV5MONDE this fall 2019. TV5MONDE, the French-language channel, will broadcast exclusively from Saturday, September 7, and throughout the year, a new program dedicated to the men and women who are changing Africa: "Population d'Afrique" (Africa's Population).
West and Central Africa are experiencing significant population growth (+2.7% per year), but also face many challenges: disease, high mortality rates, dangerous traditional practices, political and religious conflicts, unemployment, and more. To address these challenges, a dialogue has been established with governments, but also on the ground with local populations. Through numerous reports, "Population of Africa" shows how everyone is now contributing to the development of their region.
This new series, consisting of 52 26-minute episodes, invites viewers to listen to those who live in this region of Africa on a daily basis. By meeting different populations, this program paints a picture of a dynamic region that is making remarkable progress. The youth of the population in this region, combined with technology and an ecosystem that can still be exploited, offer great potential for sustainable development and economic growth.
