The JFD Club Libreville hosted its first event in Gabon, bringing together more than 200 people for its women's entrepreneurship awareness day.
On Friday, February 28, 2020, the JFD Club Libreville (Gabon) held its first major gathering: a day to raise awareness about female entrepreneurship and the Challenge des 1000 initiative, supported by Digital Africa and the 2020 Africa-France Summit.
This event, chaired by Gabon's Minister of Tourism, Trade, and SMEs, was organized by Journée de la Femme Digitale (JFD) in partnership with the Gabonese Chamber of Commerce and brought together more than 200 people, including government institutions, economic leaders, and journalists.
On June 4, 5, and 6, France will invite 1,000 African entrepreneurs to Bordeaux to present their solutions at the Cité des Solutions, a trade show dedicated to projects for sustainable cities and territories, which will be held during the 28th edition of the Africa-France Summit.
JFD, a partner of the Summit, supports the initiative, which will invite 500 African women entrepreneurs from among the 1,000 entrepreneurs selected.
Delphine Remy-Boutang, CEO of the Bureau & JFD, and Camélia Ntoutoume Leclercq, Executive Director of the JFD Club Libreville, made this the main theme of the first JFD Club Libreville event, to raise awareness and mobilize women entrepreneurs in the region.
The jury for the Challenge des 1,000, of which Delphine Remy-Boutang is a member, pays particular attention to gender parity and has encouraged applications from talented women, who will receive support before, during, and after the Summit.
Camélia Ntoutoume Leclercq, Executive Director of the JFD Club Libreville, said, "I am delighted with this successful first meeting of the JFD Club in Gabon. We want this Club to be a meeting place for women from the public and private sectors, investors, and entrepreneurs to discuss innovation, sisterhood, coaching, and training for women who want to get involved in the digital economy and discover the champions of Gabonese tech." "We are delighted to see that, thanks to the strength of the network, the values of the JFD are being shared across the continent. The spirit of innovation, creativity, and boldness were at the heart of our first JFD Club in Africa, supported by the government and major Gabonese institutions
