Press release: AFD launches Edflex AFD, an educational content platform on development

Campus AFD, the department dedicated to promoting knowledge and sharing expertise, is launching Edflex AFD, a portal bringing together more than 400 resources divided into eight themes for development actors and the general public.

Articles, conferences, reports, interviews, MOOCs (online courses), podcasts, videos, and more. The French Development Agency's (AFD) educational resources on topics as varied as demographics, sustainable economies, health, and ecological transitions in emerging countries, all related to development, are now available to everyone free of charge on the Edflex AFD online portal.

Designed in partnership with Edflex, a leading player in online training and the creator of the My Mooc website, the site brings together more than 400 high-quality, reliable resources recognized for their educational potential, divided into eight themes (global governance, climate and biodiversity, societies in transition, etc.), aimed at development actors and the general public.

In particular, it offers a selection of the best online training courses in this field, both certified and non-certified: a 12-hour course on "Energy and ecological transitions in the Global South" co-produced by the École Normale Supérieure and AFD, and a MOOC on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) designed by Uved (Virtual University for Environment and Sustainable Development).

Numerous conferences, expert interviews, and video analyses are also available:

"The African economy in 2020" by several AFD researchers

"Becoming an agent of change" by François Taddei

"Capital and ideology" by Thomas Piketty

"Afrotopia" by Felwine Sarr

"The idea is to share as many high-quality thematic resources as possible on transitions in Southern countries with development actors and the general public," explains Cécile Bekkers, digital learning project manager at AFD.

The content is divided between AFD productions and co-productions and resources posted online by international institutions (European Commission, WHO), training providers, researchers from around the world, and several media outlets, including Arte, Le Monde, and Les Échos.

Currently available in three languages (French, English, and Spanish), this content will be regularly updated: each month, the site will add 15 new educational resources. And new partnerships are expected to enrich it even further.
