Alex Ogou and his production company Plan A announced on social media the release of Obatanga, a new series airing from January 23 on CANAL+ Première.
Well known for directing the hit series "Invisibles" and "Cacao," Alex Ogou continues to stand out with fiction projects such as the series "De plus en plus loin," which he produced with CANAL+ International, and "EKI," which has been airing since April.
This new original CANAL+ production is a crime series set in the upper echelons of society in an imaginary country, a thriller that takes place in a procedural universe where extraordinary events turn the lives of the protagonists upside down. The cast includes Arthur Longville, Roger Sallah, Evelyne Ily, Sidiki Bakaba, Tola Koukoui, Mouna N'Diaye, Bambadjan Bamba, and Andréa Kakou (Miss Côte d'Ivoire 2015) will appear on screen.
Since the creation of his production company, "Plan A," in December 2020, projects have been coming thick and fast for Alex Ogou, perfectly illustrating the dynamism of the audiovisual production sector. As we highlighted in our report, the sector in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa continues to grow, driven in particular by a new generation of talent and increasingly significant investments. There is real dynamism in fiction production, which is reflected in a proliferation of increasingly ambitious projects.
