Médiamétrie has just published its quarterly press release on the quarterly declarative audience measurement carried out in Côte d'Ivoire.
The surveys were conducted, in collaboration with the Omedia institute, face-to-face, in three waves (October 8-23, 2023, November 5-20, 2023, and December 3-18, 2023) among 2,000 people aged 15 and over who were representative of the population living in the five cities covered by the study (Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, Daloa, and San Pedro).
As with every publication, the results of this study are reserved for subscribers only. The press release therefore only provides the cumulative audience figures, which remain extremely high across all segments of the population (over 97.5% regardless of the population segment), and some information on trends in digital terrestrial television (DTT) and Internet usage.
56.5% of the population in the five cities studied receive DTT, representing a 5-point decrease compared to the previous year.
64.8% of respondents said they had connected to the Internet the previous day. This compares with just 52.1% in the fourth quarter of last year. This increase of more than 24% is remarkable. At the same time, 77.6% of individuals are registered on at least one social network (compared to only 72% in the last quarter of 2022), but only 63.4% say they log on every day or almost every day, compared to 64.7% last year.
It should be noted that the fourth wave in 2022 partially overlapped with the 2022 World Cup, which may explain certain developments.
