L’ACCORD, winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2022 Luxor African Film Festival, coming soon to theaters

LACCORD is the new film directed, written, and produced by Cameroonian Frank Thierry Lea Malle. Dealing with a serious subject, L'ACCORD promises to be a hard-hitting film. This production by Inception Arts & Com and CANAL+ INTERNATIONAL will be in all CANAL OLYMPIA, MAJESTIC, and other theaters starting April 29.

LACCORD tells the story of Flora, a young girl from a disadvantaged neighborhood who is found drugged and raped at a party organized by her boyfriend Cédric, who lives in a residential neighborhood. To avoid a scandal, Cédric's parents offer Flora's parents a large sum of money in exchange for a confidentiality agreement. What will the parents decide? To reveal the truth or escape poverty?

This film, which deals with social issues with accuracy and emotion, was written and directed by Frank Thierry LEA MALLE, a young Cameroonian director. L'ACCORD is his second feature film after INNOCENT(E), a poignant plea for battered women, which won the Jury Prize at the Africlap Festival in 2020.

L'ACCORD offers leading roles in cinema to young Cameroonian talents, notably the film's headliners Vanessa AMBASSA (photo) and Jakin TOUWOLE. Alongside them are actors Thérèse NGONO, Reine MPOUADINA, Anthony NDEUCH, and Moussa SINDJAH. The famous actor Ebenezer KEPOMBIA (MADAME… MONSIEUR) also appears in the film.

"After the success of TROIS LASCARS, we are delighted to have supported Frank Thierry LEA MALLE in the production of this feature film, and now in its distribution in CANAL OLYMPIA, MAJESTIC, and other theaters. L'ACCORD will thus benefit, as it deserves, from the widest possible exposure. As a long-standing partner of African cinema, CANAL+ is proud to support filmmaking on the continent by co-producing nearly 15 feature films per year," said Fabrice FAUX, Director of Channels and Content at CANAL+ INTERNATIONAL.

Frank Thierry LEA MALLE, on his motivation for making socially conscious films such as L'ACCORD: "I really can't say why I do it, I just know that I do. I am inspired by my daily life, by the society I live in and the people I meet. I have seen so many films that have made a strong impression on me with their commitment, and I think that we too have things to say through films. I'm just participating in my own way."
