As it does every quarter, Médiamétrie publishes the results of its regular survey of television audiences and internet usage in Côte d'Ivoire.
The fieldwork for the fourth quarter of 2021, carried out by Omedia, took place from October 2 to December 19, 2021.
TELEVISION
The cumulative television audience is at a very high level: 93.3% of those aged 15 and over watched television every day on average during the period. In the third quarter of 2021, the cumulative audience was 85% of those aged 15 and over.
Médiamétrie provides another indicator measuring the evolution of awareness and equipment intentions regarding DTT. Over the period from October 2 to December 19, 2021, 59.7% were aware of DTT, compared to only 51% in the third quarter of 2021.
Among those who are aware of DTT, 49.7% intend to purchase an adapter to receive digital television, representing 29.7% of Abidjan residents (compared to 23.5% in the third quarter of 2021).
INTERNET
During the period studied, 56.8% of respondents said they had connected to the Internet the previous day. This figure was 54.8% in the third quarter of 2021.
At the same time, social media usage remains high, with 68.7% of individuals reporting that they are registered on at least one social network; however, this is a slight decrease compared to the previous period (69.7% in the third quarter of 2021).
Among the main social networks, the ranking remains unchanged: Facebook is still in the lead, followed by Instagram, Twitter, and then LinkedIn. Among those registered on a social network, 52.4% say they log on every day or almost every day, compared to 47.7% in the third quarter of 2021.
