GLOBO and CÔTE OUEST AUDIOVISUEL at MIP AFRICA

(press release)

GLOBO will be alongside Côte Ouest Audiovisuel (Mediawan Africa) for the second consecutive year at the fourth edition of MIP Africa, which will take place from September 1 to 3, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa
. This must-attend event, which brings together producers, broadcasters, platforms, and economic operators, will once again be an opportunity for Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to be among these players with the ambition of expanding its presence, highlighting the diversity of its activities and the strength of its partnerships, and reaffirming the historic partnership that has linked it to Brazilian giant Globo for more than 25 years.

Côte Ouest Audiovisuel and Globo have an exclusive partnership in Africa, which has continued to grow stronger over the years: Côte Ouest has acquired more than 9,000 hours of successful premium content from Globo.

This content, carefully dubbed into French and English by Côte Ouest's in-house studio, Studio 1, or by external service providers, is then distributed in more than 77 countries in Africa, Europe, and North America.

By combining their expertise, Côte Ouest and Globo aim to highlight the diversity and potential of audiovisual content from these two regions and explore new opportunities.
Jonathan LETT, Managing Director of Côte Ouest, says: "We are delighted to share the same stand as our partner Globo. This strategy is a no-brainer, especially since Africa and Brazil share a common history and cultural heritage that is reflected in our storytelling. Together, we aim to present captivating content that resonates far beyond our borders and to create lasting partnerships."
Rodrigo Nascimento, Head of International Sales EMEA at Globo, said: "Globo and Côte Ouest have a long-standing partnership and we are delighted to strengthen these ties at MIP Africa. The continent is an important territory for Globo because it is in tune with our stories, our novelas, and our series. I am convinced that our joint presence at this event will open up new opportunities to introduce Globo's content to new audiences."
