As the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic weakens the economic recovery of the African continent, France is organizing a summit on financing African economies in Paris on Tuesday, May 18, attended by some 20 African heads of state as well as European leaders and major international organizations. France 24 will provide multilingual coverage of the event through reports, debates, and interviews.
The global news channel's special correspondents, Christophe Dansette (French), Stephen Carroll (English), and Khaled Karaoui (Arabic), will cover the summit at the Élysée Palace and report live during news broadcasts. International commentators in the studio will analyze, alongside guests, the economic situation of African countries, their debt levels, and the solutions proposed by the international community.
On Monday, May 17, at 7:10 p.m., France 24's Le Débat in French, presented by Raphaël Kahane, will be devoted to the summit (Tuesday, May 18, at 7:10 p.m. on France 24 in English, presented by François Picard).
