Fausseni Dembélé appointed CEO of AIP

Fausseni Dembélé has been officially appointed Director General of the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP), succeeding Ms. Barry Sana Oumou, who is retiring after leading the agency for more than 10 years.

A return to the forefront of the Ivorian media

A journalist by training, Fausseni Dembélé is well acquainted with the media sector and public administration. Prior to this appointment, he served as Director General of Radio Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI) from 2019 to 2024, a period marked by challenges related to the emergence of new Ivorian digital terrestrial television channels. However, he left his position at RTI following "internal dysfunctions."

A journey rich in experiences

In addition to his time at the helm of RTI, Fausseni Dembélé also served as chief of staff at the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie. His expertise in the fields of media, culture, and administration strengthens the strategic position he will now occupy within the AIP.

The Ivorian Press Agency: a key player in national news

Founded in 1961, the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP) plays a fundamental role in gathering and redistributing information. The agency's objective is to guarantee Côte d'Ivoire's sovereignty in terms of information, both nationally and internationally.

With this new appointment, Fausseni Dembélé will be tasked with modernizing the AIP to meet new digital challenges and strengthen the agency's position in the Ivorian media landscape.

This transition marks a new era for AIP, which continues to play a vital role in disseminating news from Côte d'Ivoire and around the world.
