The Walt Disney Company announced on October 23, 2025, that Rochelle Knock would be joining the company in December as Vice President of Disney+ and Networks, and Country Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Rochelle Knock will lead the overall business growth strategy in this territory.
With extensive experience as a senior executive at African media and telecommunications companies, including MultiChoice and Vodacom, Rochelle Knock will oversee the Disney+ streaming service, as well as its linear networks and broader business development in sub-Saharan Africa.
Disney+, which was launched in 2022 with big plans to expand into sub-Saharan Africa, ended up only launching in South Africa, with an unofficial number of subscribers that's expected to hit around 3 million by the end of 2025. The arrival of Rochelle Knock should mark a new dynamic for the expansion of DISNEY+'s presence in English- and Portuguese-speaking Africa.
