Côte Ouest Audiovisuel and Orange Burkina launch the "Make it short" amateur videographer competition in Burkina Faso.
A few months after the launch of the SHORT by ORANGE platform, Côte Ouest and Orange Burkina Faso are joining forces once again to launch the MAKE IT SHORT amateur videographer competition in Burkina Faso.
Responding to the growing demand for short videos, Côte Ouest, the leader in content distribution in Africa, has been supporting the production and distribution of short videos known as "shorts" in Africa for several years. As part of this initiative, it has decided to launch a regional competition in eight sub-Saharan African countries to highlight new talent for the creation of original "Made in Africa" productions.
This regional competition began last December in Côte d'Ivoire and then took place in Benin, Togo, Gabon, Mali, and Senegal. It reached more than 1,200,000 people on Facebook, who were able to judge more than 300 selected videos.
For the Burkina Faso round, and in line with their ongoing collaboration, Côte Ouest is partnering with Orange Burkina, the leading telecommunications provider in Burkina Faso, to launch MAKE IT SHORT. The competition will allow the selected videos to be posted on the MAKE IT SHORT Facebook page and judged by public vote (the videos with the most views). The winners will receive: 1st prize 500,000 FCFA, 2nd prize 250,000 FCFA and 3rd prize 100,000 FCFA, and will qualify for the regional final called "Les Trophées Du Cinéma Court Africain Francophone" (Francophone African Short Film Awards).
All video enthusiasts residing in Burkina Faso will be able to participate on the "Make it Short" Facebook page starting July 1, 2022.
