"We are convinced that the same ingredients that made Latin telenovelas successful in African markets will make African telenovelas equally successful in Latin America," Kimberley Azria said via social media.
And to confirm this, Côte Ouest Audiovisuel has just announced that it has dubbed the first African telenovela, "Legacy," into neutral Spanish. The South African group MultiChoice chose to entrust the telenovela to Côte Ouest Audiovisuel to ensure its distribution in many French-speaking territories.
Well established in the English-speaking world, MultiChoice has been aiming for some time to expand its audience in French-speaking Africa. To this end, the South African group has chosen to strengthen its collaboration with Côte Ouest Audiovisuel, its partner of more than 10 years.
For its part, Côte Ouest Audiovisuel has been taking the initiative in a number of areas for several months now: renewing its partnership with Globo, participating in Content Americas in Miami, acquiring new series including "Maida," a hit Mozambican series broadcast on A+, and launching its KIWI platform.
