The Congolese radio landscape in Brazzaville is dominated by RFI. However, in January 2019, RFI was disrupted by a broadcast interruption in the DRC, which also affected reception of the station in Brazzaville.
As a result, RFI lost nearly 7 points in audience share over the period compared to 2018. Nevertheless, with 41.9% audience share, RFI is still listened to by nearly half the population every day. It has three times the audience share of Radio Congo, the Congolese public station, which ranks second.
VOX OF AFRICA has benefited most from this situation, with its audience tripling between 2018 and 2019, enabling it to take fourth place.
