Ciné Guimbi has launched a call for projects for its documentary film writing residency, which will take place over two weeks in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, in late February/early March 2022.
Authors from the following countries are eligible: Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Benin, Togo, Guinea-Conakry, Senegal, Mauritania, Chad, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, DRC Congo, Djibouti, Rwanda, and Burundi.
Ten residents will be selected following this call for applications.
Ciné Guimbi is a project to renovate a mini-plex in the cultural city of Bobo-Dioulasso, designed around two movie theaters (174 seats and 324 seats) and a cultural hub hosting activities related to film education and training in the film industry.
Thanks to a partnership agreement, FESPACO has been supporting the Ciné Guimbi renovation project since 2013, giving the project high visibility. Ciné Guimbi, currently under construction, was designated as the host of FESPACO 2019 and as the venue for screening films related to the festival.
Ciné Guimbi is expected to open its doors very soon.
