A new stage in the rollout of the Carrefour brand in Cameroon. Work is currently underway in the city of Yaoundé to build a second supermarket operated by the French retailer.
The second Carrefour supermarket will be located within the Douala Grand Mall & Business Park, a shopping center currently under construction and operated by the British investment fund Actis.
As a reminder, the first Carrefour Market supermarket operated by CFAO Retail was inaugurated in Douala in December 2017. Its opening marked a key step in the French group's strategic expansion on the African continent, having already gained a foothold in Côte d'Ivoire with the opening of the PlaYce Marcory shopping center in 2015. Today, the group also has a second shopping center in the city of Abidjan, PlaYce Palmeraie.
