CANAL+ IMPACT, CANAL+'s solidarity program

Present in Africa for 30 years, the CANAL+ group launched CANAL+ IMPACT on February 1, a solidarity program whose priorities—acting, informing, and transmitting—are the sources of CANAL+'s commitment in Africa.

CANAL+ IMPACT brings together all 150 initiatives carried out each year by CANAL+ in Africa around a common mission: sharing knowledge to develop talent on the continent. It is structured around three main areas:

  • CANAL+ UNIVERSITY: training courses for audiovisual professionals to help them develop their expertise. Each year, more than 60 workshops are organized for 1,000 beneficiaries.
  • the ORPHEE initiative, which provides equipment to give young people access to education and entertainment in more than 50 orphanages and schools per year, spread across some 20 countries in Africa;
  • “ONE MONTH, ONE CAUSE”: Awareness campaigns broadcast free of charge and conducted jointly with NGOs as part of operations focusing on major social and societal causes on the African continent: environmental protection, public health issues, equal rights, and the fight against discrimination.

"The CANAL+ group has a strong presence on the African continent. Through the CANAL+ IMPACT solidarity program, we want to strengthen our contribution to education, awareness, skills development, and talent training in Africa. In line with our CSR policy, CANAL+ is committed to supporting not only the cultural and creative industries, but also the younger generations, who are the driving force behind the dynamism of this ecosystem across the continent,"
said Jacques du Puy, President of CANAL+ INTERNATIONAL.
