CAF suspends sports competitions

In response to the spread of COVID-19 around the world, the Confederation of African Football has announced the suspension of all sporting competitions scheduled for the coming months.

As a result, the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the African Nations Championship, scheduled to take place in Cameroon from April 4 to 25, 2020, will be postponed to a later date.

A few days earlier, CAF had also launched a call for tenders for the media and marketing rights to African football competitions for the next two years. This new allocation of media rights follows the unilateral termination of the agency contract signed with Lagardère Sports, the main holder of sports rights in the French-speaking region.
