Last December, Netflix announced its ambitions to produce original African series. Queen Sono, the first series made in Africa produced by Netflix, marked the American platform's entry into the world of African series.
Today, the world leader in streaming and VOD continues its advance on the continent with the production of a second original series entitled "Blood & Water."
It is a drama series centered on a teenage girl who discovers her family's secret past in South Africa. For this series, Netflix will be working with South African director Nosipho Dumisa, Gambit Films, and a cast of local actors.
Blood & Water will be produced in 2019 and is scheduled to be released on the platform in 2020.
