- National brand foundation
- Strategic communication and global campaigns
- Key events and overall exposure of the country.
- The country's cultural and creative soft power.
- Media visibility and narrative control
- Diplomatic coverage and global mobility,
- Global awareness and national ambassadors,
- Governance dynamics and institutional credibility
- Economic attractiveness and business environment.
The report, which can be found here, highlights the 10 highest-ranked countries.
Morocco tops the list thanks in particular to an exceptional year for tourism, driven by the Africa Cup of Nations, iconic figures from the Moroccan team such as Achraf Hakimi, and the success and influence of its economic champions such as OCP Group, ATTIJARIWAFA Bank, Royal Air Maroc, and MAROC Telecom.
Benin ranks fifth thanks to its brand positioning, "a world of splendor," and significant global visibility in 2025, with the celebration of Vodun Days, the return of the Kataclé, the Royal Stool returned after 133 years, and the launch in June 2025 of the My Afro Origins website aimed at the Beninese diaspora. Benin has therefore joined forces with Spike Lee and his wife, producer Tonia Lewis Lee, to strengthen ties with the Afro-descendant community.
In the same spirit, singer Lauryn Hill visited Benin in 2025 on a symbolic trip that reinforced the country's cultural and emotional dimension.
Another French-speaking country, Ivory Coast, ranks 10th thanks to the development of tourism following the launch of the "Sublime Côte d'Ivoire" website in 2019 and also thanks to the sponsorship of Olympique de Marseille. Music is also one of the elements that helps to develop the Ivory Coast brand. Abidjan is the other capital of French rap with Hiram and Didi B.
Among the events, the African CEO Forum, described as the Davos for Africa, took place in Abidjan in May 2025 and welcomed 2,000 business leaders, investors, and officials from more than 75 countries.
Music and, more broadly, cultural events, international gatherings, and the most illustrious members of the diaspora are, along with communication campaigns, the main levers for increasing a country's influence, according to REBRAND AFRICA. Benin and Côte d'Ivoire, along with Senegal, have been the most active French-speaking African countries in this area for several years, and it is only natural that they appear in this ranking alongside Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, and Rwanda.
