A survey conducted by Ipsos bva confirms the success and popularity of the first season of the show Les Nouveaux Boss in French-speaking Africa. The program was deemed "modern and in tune with the times" by 89% of viewers.
While Les Nouveaux Boss has surpassed 95 million views on TV5MONDE's digital ecosystems, a survey conducted by Ipsos bva in the three most populous countries in French-speaking Africa* demonstrates the large-scale impact of this program.
34% of those surveyed said they had watched Les Nouveaux Boss and 54% had heard of it, with peak viewership in Côte d'Ivoire (38%) and peak awareness in the Democratic Republic of Congo (64%). Nearly 9 out of 10 viewers were won over by the program.
Positive features associated with the program
Les Nouveaux Boss is particularly appreciated for its ability to "meet people's expectations" (87% approval rating) and "promote Africa and its talents around the world" (88%). More than 9 out of 10 people also say they have "discovered and learned things about entrepreneurship."
African viewers associate three main characteristics with the show: it is "useful" (89%), "innovative" (87%), and "different from what we usually see" (79%). Its format is also considered "modern and in tune with the times" (89%).
A program that attracts new audiences
Les Nouveaux Boss has also enabled TV5MONDE to reach beyond its usual audience: 42% of people who do not yet watch TV5MONDE are aware of the program. 86% of them say they now want to discover French-language media—a figure that rises to 89% among 15-24 year olds.
Building on this success, TV5MONDE and WeMake Productions plan to open applications for season 2 in the coming weeks.
